Minnesota’s Science and Technology Authority had a monumental task on its hands. Recently formed by the state commerce department, the organization is chartered with bringing industry, academia and government together to promote innovation across the state.
The organization was challenged with understanding the needs of businesses, specifically in the hi-tech, biotech and manufacturing industries, in order to determine how to best serve this broad set of stakeholders. The Science and Technology Authority and its consultants turned to FUSE Insight’s automated dialogue technology to quickly “interview” more than 300 people throughout the state in a matter of a few days. The software simulates one-on-one interviews, saving significant time and money associated with conducting interviews in person.
“The key for us was the speed with which we were able to have a conversation with a large and diverse group of people, and deeply understand their needs,” said Betsy Lufts, Executive Director of Minnesota Science and Technology Authority.
The FUSE Insight platform enabled the Science and Technology Authority to quickly gather the data it needed and deliver it in a clear, actionable, insightful way that could immediately be put to work. Based on the results, the organization was able to identify three initiatives and consolidate support behind them.
